If you haven't got any apps on your smart phone .. its'a bit like having a car with no wheels. Your phone is capable of a great deal more than you are using it for. Go onto Play Store from ypur phone and have a look at free step counters. Download and install one, then have a wander round the house. Have a look at the app and you will see how many steps you have done. It's...

Thank you, Alavahalf. I'll have a go later, when I've woken up.
phones today are like mini tablets, they do so much more than call and text

That is all I use my phone for, Ducksie. :-(

Got to go, back later. Thank you.
You can install the Fitbit app for free .. but once again it is the car with no wheels unless you have a Fitbit device to use along with it.
:( tilly, what a waste of good phone, there's a world in it - get someone to show you, alavahalf has given you the best info on here today in my opinion, I'd listen to him, just one more thing, get someone, savvy with technology to show you what more you can do with your phone. You'll love it

Thanks to Alavahalf and Ducksie I have now downloaded several apps onto my phone. I just needed a 'kick' to get on with it.

I appreciate your help.

I now have the Fitbit app, just need the Fitbit.
Let me know how you get on with setting it up. Someone gave me one of those for Christmas (a little mini one that clips onto your clothes). She`s avidly waiting for me to set it up and sync it with hers but it`s still in it`s box. I don`t think they are very accurate but I`m going to have to give it a go otherwise she will be a bit insulted that I am not interested.
I've got a clip-on one and it has nothing to do with my phone or apps.

Well, I suppose my next question is.......which Fitbit shall I buy?

I already have a really good pedometer but it is battery charged and the batteries are quite expensive.

Tilly...I'm guessing that if you have a Samsung phone, you may already have a google account. I know when I got mine,it was almost a requirement. There should also be pre-installed apps.
I have the fitbit Charge HR...I've had it about a year, but I'm thinking of getting a different model. Last year's Charge had a few design problems...mine developed a crack where the charger plugs in...then a portion of the plastic broke off. I gather such issues have been corrected in the new models.
I know people who think the Blaze is quite good.

Charge and Blaze then, so far......

Are you getting another Charge, Pasta?
I was thinking of the Alta
