Hi i have a red and white cable but theres just noise coming from the tv. Do i need a yellow cable to connect the tv to the dvd. The dvd is playing on the tv via the scart i take it but its saying in the manual about a yellow lead but when i look at the back of the dvd theres no yellow socket. Thanks all

The yellow lead carries pictures via 'composite video'. You only need the red (right) and white (left) leads to carry stereo sound. (A Scart lead carries both audio and video, as does an HDMI cable).
PS: If you've got a DVD player connected to a TV via a Scart lead (or, better, by an HDMI lead if there are HDMI sockets available on both devices) and you then want to hear the sound via a 'home cinema system', you'll probably stand a much better chance of success if you connect the sound output from the TV (rather than from the DVD player) to that system.
