French Polishing

Does anybody know anything about French Polishing. I have had a quote of �150 for polishing a mahogany Regency style nest of tables, and I have no idea if this is reasonable. There is only one firm in the town where I live so not really feasible to trail the tables around for different quotes. Thanks!

thanks DawnDpt, that's helpful - the guy told me "at least �50 per table" over then phone, but he needs to see them to give a proper quote - I quess it will be higher, but at least I now know it isn't going to be cheap!!!

If you are looking to do it on a budget and the tables are not worth a mint, you might like to look for a local evening class in french polishing and try some diy. A friend of mine did this and id very proud of the results
