I have just renewed my house insurance.I spent hours on line getting many quotes,some were absolutely ridiculous. My renewal quote from Swinton was £170.
The cheapest i got on line was Swinton !!! at £111. I rang them and told them that their renewal quote was not acceptable,and told the agent of their online price.she checked it out and said YES I can give it you at that price. A saving of £59. Eureka....
I am now checking quotes for my car.

Swinton seems to specialise in this approach to renewal, as the same thing happened to me over a year ago. Your response to them was kinder than mine, if 'Eureka" means you were happy! I wasn't, since it seemed like little less than an attempt to get substantially more money from me than necessary. I found the same cover for even less elsewhere, anyway.
