Arm

On Friday evening after a lovely meal out i got into my brothers car to come home and got the most horrendous pain in my right arm....started at the top and went down to my fingers and back up and down for 20 minutes or more. It felt like something catastrophic was happening...i sat and said nothing as my Dad was in the car and i didn't want to alarm him. My brother is a firefighter so in the back of my head i thought 'well if i have a heart attack at least he'll be able to do CPR'....after about 20-25 minutes it went as quick as it had come on....no after effects....nothing....any ideas what it could have been?

Well it certainly doesn't sound like a heart attack, so no need for a "firefighter."
I have no idea how old you are, or of any ongoing medical conditions or even of you are on any medication.
However, with the above in mind it sounds like trapped nerve from a wear an tear condition of your neck, similar to sciatica but in the arm (brachalgia).No big deal, it has gone now, so just monitor the situation.

Thanks Sqad.. i am 53....chronic pyelonephritis....type 2 diabetes....high blood pressure....but more importantly here...i do have arthritis in my neck....not badly...as yet...but it has been diagnosed....thank you.
