RIP Tara Palmer-Tomkinson at 45

Just heard that Tara Parker-Tomkinson has died aged 45.

In spite of some of her lifestyle choices, tpt came across as a true English eccentric...mad as a hatter and very likeable. Sad to see someone dying so young.

As for the nit picking....it was just people answering someone who brought it up.

For what it's worth, my "nitpicking" over words is out of respect for cancer sufferers; I think expectations that they should "battle" just makes their lives harder.

I'd say it's up to the cancer sufferer themselves as to how they name or label their experience. I doubt all view it the same.

As Sqad has pointed out, I have raised the notion of 'battling' diseases, usually cancer, on a precious occasion.

I did go through a possible prostate cancer scare last year, and I told my wife (the only one who I told until the tests showed I was clear) that I would specifically not be 'battling' my cancer - I would be massively annoyed about it, but that would be it!
