I watched the original series and found it very moving. I remember getting through a lot of tissues. And the US is still not the land of the free as it would have you believe.

Not sure yet if this remake will better the original but I will give it a go.

I watched the first series too, and remember making sure we watched it every week. No video recorders back then.
I've read that this new series is even better.

It will have to be something spectacular to beat the original series. Not sure if I want to watch it, always find remakes disappoint.

I watched the first series again last year. The new series is shown from a different perspective so it is still worth watching even if you remember the original

Actually Ummmm, I found it a bit too gory and farcical. I don't think I will be watching any more episodes. I do remember the first series, although I was also very young.
