Well, I guess you know the background; Turkish referendum next month on constitutional changes. Erdogan wants to rally ex pats to get the vote out. The Dutch govt not happy about the Rotterdam event planned, as they fear it would stoke tensions ahead of their own election. Turkish minister was due to speak : she was expelled. Some hotheads in Rotterdam not happy at the ban. Rutte probably wondering if he was rise to call the ban as the sight of some dark skinned folk yelling 'allahu akbar' might push up the vote for the dubious Mr Wilders
