What is so impressive about being able to regurgitate facts?

night-night :0)
That's what's quizzing all about. Facts are the things that will win.
I'm not sure it's a great way to educate young people, but they seem to know their stuff, so there must be much more going on in the background.
Khandro - //What is so impressive about being able to regurgitate facts? //
It's not the regurgitation that is impressive - although it is, under the cosh of time and studio lights etc.
It's the planet-sized intellect you need to absorb all those facts in the first place.
The diversity and complexity of the questions is boggling, and it was a seriously impressive show of skill from both teams - would have made a great final.
I read about Bobby Seagull in a paper the other day. His parents named him after the book 'Jonathon Livingston Seagull'. Another of his siblings also has a made up surname, while two more have their dad's surname.

no no no - what shall it profit a team - if they know all the bonuses and yet suffer the loss of the starter ?
now that is more like it
University cockup with Bambi Grassgroyne in the early seventies -the JCR ( junior common room to you proles ) got £200 for each round participated in - 2000 or more now .....

I didn't see UC but saw Mr Monkman on... (A-hem) the last bit of the one show, which showed a clip from UC not having seen the full show though I do like Samjenko's comment...
That's what I like about him, calibax. His almost childish excitement at answering.
