its true for smart samsungs i have a sony smart but no mic, on my laptop ive taped over my mic as thats vunerable too. (well known)

wikileaks leaks tend to be "true" as they are not second hand gossip but actual documents stolen by people who claim to have our best interests at heart but are actually malign.
The CIA etc will have been using TVs, phones, ets as bugging devices: who know, possibly against IS operatives or suspects. The fact that this material has come out makes the job of targetting these people all the more difficult. The Germans, at least, believe wikileaks is controlled by Russian FIS: who is to say they are wrong?
So fundamentally it is highly possible that the Russians are actively thwarting the fight against IS. That ought to be food for thought for President Trump ...

It may be that Snowden and Assange are simply naive, like many who live off their every word and deed, but the people who exploit them certainly aren't

( national security agency )
and turning mobiles into transmitters - "hot miking" makes a constant appearance - in the NSA themed episodes
( The Frick and Frack episodes - these rae two listeners at the NSA and this is how their supervisor refers to them )

and at the time no one turned a hair

so all the explosive anger about endangering national security
it was all in the public domain anyway
