What kind of people are now running hospitals? Not knocking it by any means but some people seem to be in the wrong jobs.
My mum went into hospital on Thursday for a knee replacement. Shes 84 and has got heart and kidney failure but was given the go ahead for the surgery (which surprised us all) but the surgery went ahead. Went to see her yesterday and she was crying with the pain. On top of that she now has low oxygen levels and other 'complications'. Havnt been able to visit today but rang my sister who has. My sister had a word with the ward nurse and asked..
Why is she been left in so much pain, answer...shes in the best place
Why is her oxygen levels so low...shes in the best place
Why is she having trouble breathing....we don't know but shes in the best place.
Is a straight answer too much trouble?
My mum also told my sister that she'd asked the same nurse for some extra pain relief and got fobbed off with ''yes, we will sort it later'' and then went of duty.
I'm going up the hospital tomorrow and if I don't get any satisfactory answers then God help them....

What I say when ive had a few bevvies and what I do the next day are two different things. Last night I was just feeling a bit angry and a bit worried. I'm going to the hospital later today and will try and get some answers. Thanks for replies guys.
Hi nalit, at 84 and with heart and kidney failure on top of major surgery your poor Mum has a lot of problems . It is almost certain that there is no 'straight answer'.
With her heart and kidney problems pain relief is going to be a problem. Morphine depresses the heart rate and affects the kidneys so they will have to be very careful not to give too high a dose.
