It can honestly depend on where on your body you have them. I have 4.....one on my rear shoulder blade, one one each upper arm and a large dragon down the outer lower leg.
The first three were just like scratches with an after pain of mild sunburn for a day or two but the one down my leg bought a little tear to my eye at times.
Generally speaking, legs, ankles, wrists, ribs and anywhere very close to a bone or very fleshy might nip a bit.
Go for it. Once the tattooist starts, you'll be fine
i have one lower back, it took 2 hours to do and it was bareable...if i had another one done i wouldnt hesitate because of the pain, its not significant.....more like a scratching feeling....stubbing your toe hurts a heck of a lot more!
Iz x
yes they hurt....because lets face it ,its needles in skin...but saying that i have about 30 so it doesnt hurt that much the worst of mine are on my hand from little finger out side to 1/4 way down my wrist and on top of my foot, all the rest were almost like an aggrovating scratch, but nothing like when you prick your finger with a pin .they are addictive hence my 30, and my back is covered, but i have my works of art with my all the time.i look on it as the tattooist is drawing with a metel pencil not needles
good luck
Cheers for all of the above guys!
Hmm.........
Maybe i'll just have to "Bite the bullet" and go for it then?
(..........As long as the Softy in me doesn't take over??)
Ha-Haa!
go on be brave get one done.im scarred of needles but my when my dad dies i desided to get one done,it wasnt bad at all,i felt it more when the outside black line was being done, ive got 3 now and go away in 9 wks and getting one done again cant wait.if you ask my hubby he will say it hurts.
Ive had tattoos on my arms, legs, back, chest and tummy. The only one that really hurt was the one below my tummy button, I nearly passed out. Ive just spent the last 4/5 years and a thousand quid getting rid of em. Think really carefully before you have one done :)
Well I have three myself a large design on my lower back that I had when I was 18, a quote above it ("of all the things i've lost i miss my mind the most") and a dagger between my shoulder blades. They actually put numbing cream on now b4 starting a tat and althou it's ment to take at least an hour to kick in I must be really susceptible to it (althou I do have a freakishly high pain thresh-hold) cos i only ever felt the first prick of the needle then i didn't feel anything else (and no i hadn't passed out!). So it depends on ur pain thresh-hold really.
