Folk who feel no pain experience nasty injuries as there is no feedback to make it imperative to take action to avoid injury, or try to repair existing injuries. A species that feels no pain is one due to go extinct quickly.
is this a why does God who loves us all
allow us to feel pain ?
No idea
or what is the advantage of pain in Darwin's scheme?
avoidance of damaging stimuli that may shorten the lifespan of the pain feeler
relatively easy to construct an argiment that the organism will live longer and therefore reproduce if it experiences pain around harnful stimuli and learns to avoid them
I fell down the stairs and hurt my foot...fine, I can deal with that but the next day I felt like I'd been in a boxing match, every muscle in my body hurt, worse than my foot!
Feeling pain is one of the human bodys' survival instincts. It is to warn the body to flee danger or to act to survive. eg. I once knew a girl who had a very severe illness which damaged her nerve endings and meant she couldnt feel pain. When she lay in front of the fire her parents had to watch her all the time because if she began to burn, she had no way of knowing that. Pain also in a spiritual sense allows me to see things from a different perspective and gives us sympathy for other people.
