i am having trouble removing the rotary blade. the retaining nut has completely seized up. B&D customer support told me that the nut is left hand thread (ie the opposite of what you would expect). i find this hard to believe. Ive never seen one on any appliance. in any case the nut is jammed in both directions. Anyone got any ideas on this? There is nothing in the user guide notes.

If the blade spins in an anti-clockwise direction then an anti clockwise locking nut would prevent the blade from a tendency to unlock it. Spray it with WD40 (other loosening aides are available) and leave it overnight. Use a long handled wrench / spanner.
B&D customer support inform you that the retaining nut is left handed and you find that "hard to believe"?
Do you think they are deliberately misleading you?
There are left handed threads on many appliances e.g. the left pedal on a bike, for pretty obvious reasons.
I suggest you persevere in trying to loosen it clockwise.
