I have a feeling UKIP may have given up in N Ireland this time round. At the Assembly elections it was quite interesting to see some of the first preference totals for UKIP and the Conservatives ... They weren't in it to win it that's for sure.
Said once before I'm 59 yrs old never voted and that goes for today don't care who gets in to be honest all liars the lot of em!!
Berniecuddles2 - that interesting. When did you decide not to? I mean, was it always the way?
Jim at 10:57, ahh, I see. You have more than one complaint. Even though the system you so disapprove of prevented a party you really wouldn't want to win from gaining seats, you hold them up as an example. Oh well. You can’t please all of the people all of the time.
I have voted in every General Election since the 1960s, in fact I've just returned from voting this morning. In all that time, not once have I chosen the winning candidate! My vote has not contributed to anything, but I'll still carry on voting, and hope that, eventually, this country will wake up and give us proportional representation. Everyone knows this is the fairest way, but who in government will support it?

I certainly agree with everything jim360 says on the subject.

Bad bad boy Bernie !! ;o( ...
morning Ed from an early age I had no feelings for politics or religion I count myself lucky as both cause so many arguments between people I couldn't care less about both of them ..I will however hold my hands up as I voted to leave Brexit my 1st vote ever ..sick of them telling this country what we can or can not do!
enlighten me MM why am i bad ?

Well, yes, I don't like UKIP at all. But if so many people do, shouldn't they have better representation? It was my understanding that democracy means that sometimes people you don't like should still have a say. I wouldn't want to support a system that means that my opponents don't get any say, even if it's in my selfish interests to have them shut up.
people have fought and some died so we have the right to vote..smack bum !
and the right not too!
smackie bum anyway..I knows you like it ! xx
ssshhhshhh
Proportional representation will garantee a permanent 'hung parliment' not that I think that is nessesarily a bad idea!
