Please can you confirm. I am going on holiday to Tenerife on 18th July 2006 for 1 week. I return 25th July. My passport runs out on 30th August 2006. Will this be valid to use entering and returning. Thanks [email protected]
it'll be fine for returning - it's valid in Britain, after all, and the Spanish won't mind you leaving. (You are talking about Britain?) Whether they'll let you in in the first place is another matter, but as far as I know they always do; their concern is with people who might overstay and become illegals, but that's unlikely to be a problem with visistors from another EU country.
For some bizarre reason the Canaries, although part of Spain, are indeed a duty-free area. I can't quite see how that works - a bit like declaring The Isle of Wight duty-free - but no doubt the Spaniards, like most of our European brethren, simply ignore the EU directives regarding dutiable goods........
