The Police are always reluctant to arrest travellers for anything short of murder (I'm only exaggerating slightly). As it was explained to me once (by the Police) it's all such a waste of time. Ties up so much man power, even if they get a fine, they won't pay it, they move on and can't be traced (easily). And they are apparently a protected species. It's more...
The problem with video is that it usually does not tell the whole story. Cameras are reached for once the 'fight' is underway and it ignores what has gone on before. which in this case could be either party starting it.
we could solve this by giving all the councils of the UK powers to a) confiscate their mercs and porsches in lue of payment for the pile of 541t3 they always create, and b) move them on instantly. Too easy I guess and the right on brigade will be up in arms.
Me too;-) But there were plenty of onlookers according to Sarah and as I said an onlooker is a witness I would think and can be made to testify. I think DB is probably right @ 18.46, sadly, and of course not pursuing them makes them feel even more empowered.
Amazing lady. They moved on, but I bet they'll be back. I know from when we had these scroungers on land near me back in the day, the police just stood and watched them drive on to the field while some of us pointed out the lack of tax discs on their expensive vehicles - very frustrating !
