The brother of Obama's VP Joe Biden has dropped heavy hints to CNN that Biden may once again try for the Democratic nomination in 2020. Thought it interesting, especially because he's an appealing character and he's not Hillary. He'll be 77 at the time.
Stood 88 and 2008. Dismal ratings (especially after plagarised Neil Kinnock speech). Appealing. Must be unique in the history of politics for plagarising a Kinnock speech and people being awake long enough to notice.
Well, it's not true with Clinton, Obama, Kennedy or Carter or with G. W. Bush. That said there does appear to be a plethora of older candidates each time. Suppose it's the nature of the progression. Congressman, senator, pres candidate. But not always the case.
The Americans seem to be on never-ending Presidential election trails! He didn't run in 2016, I think he thought that Hillary had it in the bag and she was backed by Obama; he also lost his son in the early stages. Personally I can't see him as President, he never seemed to do much in the BO presidency tho' wasn't it Lyndon Johnson who said that the VP role wasn't worth a bucket of warm spit?
Just think there's something rather nice about him. Genuine, perhaps. Terrible back story - wife and one-year-old daughter dead in crash, son dead at 46, brain tumour. Just my impression.
