Laptop Battery

Can anyone please help me find a replacement battery for my Lenovo laptop?. I've tried Lenovo but they just sent me round in circles until someone eventually told me to try Medion. Medion told me that they thought the battery for my laptop was discontinued but didn't know the replacement number. Model No. G505S. battery No. 41/CR 19/66, L12MEO1 14.8v, 41wh, 2800 mAh

You may not be able to get a genuine Lenovo battery but compatible ones are readily available (but not cheap)...here's one such....

The '2800 mAh' bit doesn't need to be met by a replacement battery. It's simply an indication of the power of the battery (i.e. how long you'll be able to use your laptop before the battery runs down). If you buy a battery with a higher 'mAh' figure it will still fit, and work just as well, but it will hold its charge for longer.

So this would appear to be ideal, giving you about 50% extra battery life:

Many thanks folks, you were right on the button. just one more question. It asks for capacity. 4 cell-2 or 4 cell-1. I can find no indication of this on the battery. How do I sort this out? Forgive the stupid/naïve question but I'm an eighty four year old recycled teenager trying to keep up with todays technology!

If you scroll down on Gingejbee's link you'll see this line:
"Capacity: 4 Cell-1 41WH 2800MAH; 4 Cell-2 32WH 2200MAH Battery (Optional)"

As I read that, the '4 Cell 1' model is the higher capacity one (rated at 2800 mAh), with the '4 Cell 2' model only rated at 2200 mAh. So, of the two, it's the '4 Cell 1' which you should opt for.

However, given that the battery in my link is rated at 4400 mAh (meaning that it will last longer), and is also cheaper, I can't see why you're not opting for that one anyway.
