We have a double width driveway so two cars can be parked next to each other but there is a street light slap bang in the middle (on the boundary edge) which makes it tight on one side getting in. Is it possible to request the street light is moved to another position making it safer to park? Thanks.

of course you can ask the council to move it a little bit,but i would expect they would want a hefty sum to do it.
depends what came first - the light or the house - i suspect the house did - they had no right to place the light obstructing access to your property.

insist they move it
I would guess that it is almost certain that the light came first. At some stage your drive was widened to make it double width and nothing could be done about the light that was already there. You will just have to live with it or buy one smaller car!
