The Road To Hell...........

................is now the M6, not the M25. Yesterday we went to Birmingham to watch my granddaughter in the National Festival of Music For Youth. The M6 was a nightmare before we then encountered the Aston (Non) Expressway. A further nightmare. The journey back to Manchester was extremely slow and annoying. It took 4 hours. They reckon the roadworks will improve things when they're finished but I can't see it. It'll still be the longest car park in Europe.

In the sixties in amerikee it used to be the Long Island Parkway
( longest parking lot in the US)

used to do this reguarly -
why didnt cha take the train - week end - £36 both ways
trains down at 00 and 27 mins past the hour ( not sure about weeke ends)

Always pay and use the M6 get to whizz down it no issues at all.
Never had any issues on the M25 in the 26 years I have been using it.
IMO the worst road until recently was the A11 but at least they have now made that duel carriageway.

They won it that year I think Clarion..they are always up there in comps..the conductor is a much respected writer of musical scores and arrangements he is wonderful with the youngsters. my mum, as one of their very first benefactors, has an annual award in her name that goes to the most improved youngster, along with a cash prize which she donates...she paid for the stands and banners you can see and for a load of sheet music cases for them as loss of music was always a problem ...!!
