Anybody Know What Device Wire Is For?

I am trying to get rid of some of the clutter in my office and have found this wire. What's it for? I can't remember seeing it before.

Car cigarette thingy at one end, and other end for the mobile?

it looks like the end of a plug that you would insert into a car cigar lighter socket. If there is nothing on the other end (just a guess) it may have been attached to something like a portable tyre inflator or connected to a portable sat nav device?

Ron it's the end for a car ciggie lighter..could be for anything

It certainly is a car plug. Some devices (battery chargers, phone chargers etc) come with both a mains lead and one which will fit into a car cigar-lighter socket. If you bought such a device and don't have a car you might just have put it in the drawer thinking you'd never use it.

The sockets everyone is calling "cigar/cigarette lighter" sockets are known now as "12v outlet sockets"....it's not common to find cars supplied with the actual lighter part from new....you have to purchase separately as an accessory.
What is actually at the other end of the cable may be a good indication of what it was used for originally.

ron - I couldn't get any picture of the other end - it just looked like a black blob.
