Was sitting at the time. Not a bite

This is clearly an arthritic problem and 3 conditions come to mind.
1) Rheumatoid arthritis
2) Osteo arthritis
3) Gout.
In fact they are in order of my diagnostic talent.
Only blood tests and X-Rays will confirm the diagnosis but in the meantime and for the next 3-4 days I would take Ibuprofen 400mgms before food. If after that there is no improvement, then see your GP.

Thank you
I thought I had maybe sprained it so put it in ice and rubbed
Ibuprofen gel on it...it's the lower part of the finger where the swelling is and the back hurts to touch...I dismissed the bite idea after putting bite cream on. I have some arthritis in my thumb joints which I've had for years. Not that bad. Not sure GP could help...or if I can get an appointment. They only do same day appointments and I'm not a serious case! I had looked up gout but no other symptoms.
