How Do I Change My Hotmail Email Address
9 Answers
I am getting so many nasty emails on my hotmail account I am fed up trying to keep up with deleting them. They are going into my junk mail but, I would like to make another address so eventually I will ignore this one and let them play among themselves..
I don't know how to do it tho.,.can anyone explain please.

GMX is far better. Simply set up a new account here:
https:/ /www.gm x.co.uk /
Then use the Mail Collector facility to get mail from your Hotmail account automatically forwwared to your GMX one (so you'll only have to log into one account and you won't miss anything sent to your old address).
Once everyone whom you actually want to receive mail from is aware of your new address you can simply disable the Mail Collector and just use your GMX address.

I switched to GMX following recommendation a year or so ago and almost never get any junk emails. For some reason though there appears not to be an app available to get gmx on my Moto G2 phone. I have to use gmail to act as the collector to view gmx emails via that. Also if I delete emails on the laptop the email remains on the phone or vice versa, meaning I have to delete twice. Somehow I think there must be something I'm doing wrong. Apart from this, I can recommend GMX even though when I give anyone my email address, they have never heard of GMX
For Countrykid:
>>> Also if I delete emails on the laptop the email remains on the phone or vice versa, meaning I have to delete twice
That suggests that you've got your email app set up to use POP3 instead of IMAP.. Perhaps you need to investigate further?
>>> when I give anyone my email address, they have never heard of GMX
GMX is run by 1&1, which is one of the world's largest internet companies, employing over 7000 people and providing webhosting to many major international businesses. However because 1&1 is based in Germany (rather than in the UK or USA) and not associated with search engines (as Yahoo is) or linked to Microsoft (as Hotmail is), GMX still seems to be little known here.
