Ellipsis - // I asked "As a moderator, shouldn't you be acting in the best interests of the site?" and the answer is clearly "Yes, you should", so either you think it is in the best interests of the site to derail a thread as far as this one has been derailed, or you will agree that after 40 (60 now) off-topic posts enough is enough. //
I don't believe I have 'dreailed' the thread.
I respond to posts that either refer to me, or speak to me directly.
If people don't want a thread to be 'about me' as some say, they should suggest to those who refer to, or speak to me, to desist from doing so, and the problem will disappear.
As a Moderator, my role is not to direct the thread and steer it any which way - that would be ludicrous. I simply look out for rule transgressions,('de-railing' is not one of them) and act appropriately.
If you are not happy about the direction of a thread, it is in your hands as much as mine, or anyone else's, to steer it back on track. It is not however your responsibility to do so, nor is it mine.
