Have told an acquiescent friend I no longer want to be here for her and family to visit me from England to Ireland on the phone.. I don't like her any more - and I have realised over the last 30 years I have never liked her.

She was to visit me in June and July and I put her off in terrible terms. She has sent me an email to me tonight fobbing the "nasty" email off.

Jaysus Christ - I truly don't want her in my life any more. But she is insisting how wonderful her life is with her kids, grandkids etc etc.

Funk me - Leave me Alone - Sorry guys - LOl - but that's how I feel

thanks baldric LOL - I truly can't believe her email to me tonight.
If you have told her plainly maybe she won't bother you again.
I don't blame you, jj. If you don't want her to stay with you, you did the right thing. Was she going to stay for the whole of June and July? That's way too long for anyone to stay.

Question Author
thanks Mamy - I told her plainly about April that she couldn't come to me as she requested in June and July - I thought I had "rid my stomach" to her - but she clearly hasn't taken the hint.

Look I am an oul maid and oul spinster - I don't want families staying with me and pretending to "make small talk" - ahhh - Jaysus I want to vom. She is an Irish girl married to an English guy. Don't like him or her for that matter and never "warmed to her kids". Why has she not taken the hint for Funk Sake.

I truly truly want this lady out of my life.
JJ, I know this has worked you up somewhat but don't keep using disguised swear words, substitute another suitable term.

Hope you are now rid.

Goodnight Jenny, can't say I didn't try.
Tell her you have moved in with ur bf and your house is rented to tenants. Is she after a free holiday?
Tell her plainly do not come to my house at all. My door is shut to you and yours permanently. Do not call me or hassle me or I will seek an injunction against you. Leave me alone. Now go away, I do not like you and never have. You wouldn't take a polite hint. So I'm telling you clearly stay away from me forever.
What's an "acquiescent" friend?
maybe a cross between acquaintance and friend Jack?
(just a guess tho)
Just don't reply to her emails.
a friend that has latched on without encouragement or wanted..but put up with.. I'd write and tell her you are no longer conducive or able to have visitors..
Question Author
thanks for replying - I am not going to answer the email.

Sorry for the acquiescent friend - don't know what that is LOL

I really don't mind anybody staying overnight but not for weeks.

And I mean she truly doesn't stop talking from 7.30am to 12.00 midnight. Last time she was here I was mentally and physically exhausted. Her attitude is - you are privileged I am here.

Also my attitude to her is dreadful. I don't speak back, I don't cook, I don't go out with her socially - I mean why doesn't she take a hint.

I think she is terrified of losing her free B&B and all the other things that come with it.

Anyway that's it. Won't be replying. Sorry for this so early in the morning. Have a nice day all.
Nail on the head JJ, its the b&b she wants, you don't really need to say anything to her except you have no wish to have guests in your home anymore .
