A ginger and white young Cat has been making an appearance at our back gate for about a month or so now. My son started leaving dried food by the gate as he looked a bit dishevelled and nervous. Eventually, he gained confidence and started venturing down the path, so we left wet food out for him. He was quite skinny and his tail matted with tar or oil. Anyway he and my other cat seem to like each other and eat together in my conservatory. We got a local RSPCA person out two days ago. He said he seemed ok but not chipped. I thought it was a female, which I've been calling Daisy. Well was told Daisy is Tom! Any male names welcome..

Thanks for all your suggestions. I've been calling him Bob for some reason! Although, he doesn't look like a Bob... The RSPCA man said Daniel....

Jasper.
That's good Tone..Jasper !!
My mom used to have a cat called Geoffrey, and our old cat Daisy ( RIP ) used to have a boyfriend called Dave.
Question Author
I like Geoffrey. Probably because my lovely uncle who passed away 18 months was called that.
There you go then, Patsy sorted.
My mom's cat Geoffrey was a lovely natured cat ( Grey and White ).
He is a lucky cat to have you care for him, whatever he is called.
^ Totally agree with marval.
Orphan.

Well, I know I said I'd call him Geoffrey yesterday, but today its now Jasper! Funny thing, it's the only name he responded to. He actually meowed when I called him by that name. He's lovely.
I knew that would suit him, Patsy.
Question Author
Yes you did say Tone. Good name..
I know it's a long shot but maybe that was his name.
A friend of mine took in a little black dog and after trying, unsuccessfully, to find his owner, decided to keep him.

He was lying in his bed asleep when she was discussing with her husband what to call him, he looked at his black coat and half joking said, "suppose it will have to be Jet" the little dog jumped up and came running over.

Suppose Jet is a common name for a black dog but it was either really his name or her just liked it. HaHa.

I did think that Darcey. Thanks.
