I agree

I often wonder why people who claim to be animal lovers think nothing of buying halal meat.
good news or good chatter?
Good news Baldric.
I agree, Baldric - let's hope the legislation goes through quickly.
About time, but pity it isn't 10 yrs, from what I have seen in the media, a good start though.

In this country you seem to get long sentences for things like fraud and shorter sentences for hurting a person or animal.

It does need to be taken more seriously. I'm glad they are making a start at least.

About time too! Let's hope this does deter those sick monsters out there. Heartbreaking to read such cruelty.

I have said this before on here we are a nation of dog owners not a nation of dog lovers when I hear of so many horrendous stories of cruelty to dogs I feel sick
I've been working at a vets practice recently. A dog was brought in with a crossbow bolt in its rear end. Luckily, it didn't hit any vital organs and the dog recovered. Words fail me...
Melv, I don't know how you managed to keep your composure. I'd want to find the person who did that and do unspeakable things to them.
Definitely about time, but I wish it was more, maybe birch them as well ...
