Reported it to non emergency number - not a lot they can do but will keep it on file.
No burgler alarm, just 2 dogs and 4 cats that hate strangers and tend to attack people!!
I am slightly freaked out tbh. Will look into CCTV this weekend!

You can get some good CCTV which you can monitor from your phone. I'm going to order mine this evening. (And at least then you can keep your eye on your menagerie when you are out).

TWR - I live in the sticks I have no neighbours, there is a shop but my front door is in the opposite direction on the side of the house.

It's a pity phones don't detect when the line goes down and sound or flash an alarm. A simple off switch for when deliberately disconnected would cover that eventuality. Could've been ages before you noticed. Umpteen important calls might not have been able to get through.
