I have had shingles on on my tummy and back for a week now and although the rash is slowly going I am still in pain,it is starting to itch even though I did not have any open sores. Is this normal? Has anyone out there had them and know how long before completely cured.
Thanks

Palustris.......did the rash ever appear?
No. Talking to the Nurse at the Dr's, she said that it was not uncommon for the rash to be so fleeting that it seemed not to be there. And yes it WAS Shingles. the symptoms were exactly correct for the problem and the treatment worked as it should.

I refused the offer of the shingles jab a couple years back thinking I could not get it again..going to get it now.
Mmm!

It is very, very difficult to diagnose shingles in the absence of a rash UNLESS one has a blood test and one identifies antibodies......then it can be diagnosed.
But, if the nurse said they were shingles......then shingles it was.

I have a rash..but they did not get as far as developing enough to break open.I went to the hospital as it was a Saturday and was diagnosed there.Bit,oh yes, have a rash, very painful and sore.It all started off a few days earlier where my hip area was aching...thought I had started with arthritis there as I do suffer with it...glad it is not though cos this will go .... eventually.
