Local news, HGV's in another accident, why do these keep happening? it seems everyday these accidents happen, what causes these? is Inexperience the cause or drivers being tired? it was never like this years gone by & it's not only in Lanc's it's all over the country's Motorways.

I doubt it would work Ron, UK Road are too congested as it is, Mikey, it was 60mph but this driver was "Trying Me" this is when HGV's were allowed 60MPH.
Speed limit for HGVs on motorways was put back to 60mph a little while ago.
Yes BHG, but they have speed limiters with an absolute maximum of 56mph.
Apparently not all lorries have speed limiters - I've forgotten where I read it.
Yes they do.
Except perhaps the police trap ones that sneak up to catch drivers doing what they shouldn't while driving.
I've searched further Hoppy. The reference I came across said that some older lorries might not be fitted with speed regulators but that was Wikipaedia, which is unreliable. The current law, taken from the government web site says that all HGVs must be fitted with a speed regulator and makes no allowance for older vehicles. They are allowed to do 60mph on a motorway but the speed regulator must be set to 56mph or less.
