Petrol Or Diesel?
Hopefully going to be getting a fairly decent Nissan Qashqai soon. Got about £14k to spend but not sure whether to go for petrol or diesel.
Are diesels going to be taxed to the hilt in future?
Advice welcome

Having run diesels for the past 18 years I am very much in favour of the fuel consumption and low-rev torque. Furthermore, since I do about 16,000 miles a year of which about 10,000 are abroad (where diesel is much cheaper) I reckon I save about half my fuel costs by using diesel, which equates to around £1000 a year. Having said that, I would be loath to buy a very new diesel because of the uncertainty of its future.
