I don’t know which Head Teacher you are talking about, Gromit. But it doesn’t matter. My criticism would be of any authority which pays the head teacher of a primary school a six-figure salary, regardless of where it is, what party its MP represented or what colour the local authority was.
“If not, I am not sure why you have posted links to others who are high paid?”
Because they were the first two (of many) who were presented when I searched for overpaid primary school heads. The question is about schools having insufficient funds for pens and paper. I’ve identified two areas where fortunes can be saved.

I pay what I consider to be a lot in tax - in fact I think I pay more than my fair share - and therefore I expect, and deserve, my kids to be adequately catered for in school.
I have a child in secondary school and a child in primary school, and I have letters from both with "suggested" contribution amounts (which, by the way, they want by direct debit) which would cost me approx £600 a year.
The view I take is that I've already paid for this with the stupid amount of tax we are required to pay in this country.
If my kids need extra equipment for school, I will buy it for them.
If other parents cannot afford to buy extra equipment for their kids, well i couldn't give a tinker's cuss. Their money issues are not my issues.
