Is there anywhere you’d recommend in South West London where I could park free or cheaply of a weekday and catch a train nearby into the West End? I’m trying to avoid paying the Congestion Charge and exorbitant West End parking fees

It would depend on where you are coming from vernonk !

In the 90's, used to go up to Town, to visit the ROH, on quite a regular basis. I parked in the station at Claygate. I can't remember the parking fee but it was greatly preferable to parking in Town, and that was before the congestion charge was brought in.
