Countless web references say that the first biographer of G K Chesterton was his friend, Maisie Ward.

I agree Buenchico - I found them also. However if you go straight to the bottom of the wiki file - the only reference beginning with T is "Tonquedec" - "GK Chesterton, ses Idees et son caractiere"

A bit of googling shows that Titterton's work was a 'character study', rather than a true biography, but he's clearly the guy that Seekeerz is after.
