I don't have an ipod, but try checking the unit for a reset hole - you can poke a straightened paperclip into this and it should reboot the ipod for you.

hold middle button and play button for several seconds until display blanks.

if u cant reset it (see itunes for instructions) you send the ipod to apple (instructions / form on the net to ) via a UPS man they send and the f*ckers wipe all your songs :( . p.s they wont let u take it back to the apple shop unless you make an appointment!!!! oh and you have to go to the shop to make an appointment!! all fun and games.

1) Insert iPod into the hand you write with.
2) Bring arm holding iPod back and build up your strength is said arm.
3) Launch arm forward letting go of iPod at the last moment. works best against a wall.

I'm pretty sure there's a reset button on the back of ipods. In the instruction book it'll probably have a list of shortcut keys like fo3nix said
