Without wishing to hijack the thread, I can't resist the opportunity to ask a question about basins within kitchen sinks.
Why do people use a basin within a sink which itself does not leak and then basins that are chosen because they match the size of the sink so closely that they virtually fill it ? And having done this, why is there not a basin within the basin, and another again.......just like the Russian dolls within dolls ? Or is it just because grandmum's mum used to when it was a porcelain sink that was cracked and leaking during the war ? I have never understood and consequently, when asked, have never been able to explain this to the best of my knowledge uniquely British phenomenon (foreigners are distinctly bemused).
