Face cream

Can anyone honestly recommend a Face Cream for ageing skin -- one that really works? Or will any old one do? I have bought quite expensive face creams in the past (Clarins, Helena Rubinstein Prodigy) but must say I don't look any younger !! Otherwise would you recommend any non surgical facelifts ?? I am sure I have opened a can of works here .. :)

When I can be bothered, which isn't often, I bung on the cheapest moisturing cream I can find, even if it's one of the Aloe Vera creams from a Poundshop. We're all going to die eventually anyway and if we all live to 80+ we'll have have a few wrinkles, whether we use skin creams or not. Therefore I'd rather snuff it having spent my money on other things which give me more pleasure than lining the pockets of Helena Rubinstein and the other cosmetic manufacturers.
It could be worth asking in Boots, they were really helpful and knowledgeable when my Auntie went in asking for face cream.
I'm in my early 40's and use Nivea Q10. I don't think I look any younger since starting to use it, but I don't think I look any older! I can feel the night cream really working on my skin if I wake up in the night. Hope this is of some help.

i only use aqueous cream ..as a dermatologist reccomended it..the thing is i am nearly 50 and have hardly got any lines ..and i just use simple products baby creams ..oils etc...but i allways wear a really good makeup foundation ..which protects my skin from the elements..i use estee lauder complete make up..maximum cover..i have got some good quality face creams from estee lauder that i have had as gifts from them..and they are no better ..than what i normally wear..i would just tell you to use mild products and a good foundation..
Thank you all so much, I read somewhere that Nivea was as good as any. I think a lot of it is just so you can look at an expensive pot on the dressing table. I will have to buy Nivea and put it into the Clarins pot .. how sad am I? Has anyone tried a surgical face lift or one of those DIY face peels? I meant a 'can of worms' by the way in my original question...
My sister's just given me some Clinique samples (mmm do you think she might be trying to tell me something?) and I have to say I do like it.
woofgang I've heard quite a few people recommending Liz Earle but I never could stand her when she used to be on tv, always thought she had a good face to smack! So if I bought her products all I'd see when I was applying them would be her. Then again ...could be better than than the face I've got!
The only non surgical face lift I've tried judiewudie is a very tight ponytail!
Hi judiewudie. I had a non-surgical thing done last year called Dianne, they put small stickers at various muscle points in your face and neck and then put a small electrical current through them which makes your skin tighten and then relax, htye say you need about ten sessions, it looked good after I had it done but unfortunately did wear off after a few weeks. If you find anything please let me know. Good luck.
