Just seen a trailer for this and an interview with one of the participants, it's about how children's lives are affected when their Dads are in prison. Looks like it should be an emotional watch. On today, CBBC 5.30 p.m.
Our local Samaritans branch had a talk a couple of years ago by an organisation called "Families Outside". Must admit I had never before thought much about the consequences of having a parent in prison. The expression "parent in prison but families doing the time" has always stuck in my mind.
While we may feel sympathy for the children of these men in prison both men featured in this CBBC program tonight have been given long prison sentences so must have done serious crimes and that should not be forgotten.
Agree Guilbert53, but it is the men who are the criminals, not the children. From what I gather the children often get bullied in school and out. Families often have to move house to get away from the stigma. Crime affects all family members.
