how can you tell if you pc has been hacked, your e mail account?

Believe me you would know Emmie.....first sign is you cannot access your email or other accounts because the hacker changes your password once they are in. I was not hacked but Microsoft alerted me of "unusual" activity regarding my email account. Someone was obviously trying to gain access to my pc through my email account. Once into my email they would manage to install spyware or whatever. My email address is still probably on record at Avast but I blew them out years ago. That is why I hate third party security systems. To many clever beggars there and you do not know what they are doing with your info. I remember Kaspersky being touted as the best thing since sliced bread. Russian owned, you must be joking.
