A Day's Silence In Memory Of Mikey4444
58 Answers
I am so devastated over the news of the death of Mikey, that I will no longer be posting on AB today.
More of a day's silence one might say.
RIP Mikey old chap.

Although personality wise he will never be replaced, I do hope that there will be another from the Left who will step in his boots and defend his party with the vigour and devotion of that shown by our late great mikey4444?

Perhaps at another time we can discuss the merits of woofgang's post -- I've seen the quote before, as it happens -- but I felt that in a thread about remembering mikey it was the worst time to discuss such matters. Let each of us draw comfort in their own way. It's a pity that PP felt a need to drag my name into it.
Funnily enough AOG I had the same thought as you yesterday.
I did not have your strength of purpose though :-)
Probably not for me to say, but I will say it anyway: it was a touching gesture.
I hope somehow mikey is aware of the affection from so many of those with whom he crossed swords, metaphorically.

What was mikey in real life? I seem to remember him saying that he worked for the Dept of Work and Pensions. His job was to visit people at home who had refused job offers and try to find out why,so that they could be helped back into work. I remember him saying that the most common reason he was given was ''Because I'm not working with ****ing immigrants''

On the subject of Woofgang's physicist, no, I wouldn't want him delivering the obsequies either. Scientific truths, useful as they are, are not complete explanations of human experience. I know that Mikey's death has affected me more than I can rationally account for. Maybe the suddenness of it - and the added poignancy of his dog.
