1. What is the current postal value of stamps denominated "E" ?
2. Is it possible to use high value unused postage stamps (e.g. £5 or £10) to pay bills such as TV licence or car road tax over a post office counter?

'E' stamps haven't been sold for many years but any existing ones should remain valid at the basic postage rate for letters (up to 20g) posted to Europe. That's currently £1.17

Postage stamps are not accepted as payment for road tax (or, indeed, for anything else) at a Post Office counter:

The BBC took the TV licence payment contract away from the Post Office in 2006, so you can't obtain a TV licence from a Post Office.

My belated thanks, buenchico.Cannot find a use for unused high value postage stamps (acquired for next to nothing but it seems a pity that £10 items are going begging) I shall just have to send some very heavy parcels!
