Does anyone know what the music is that is playing when Rose and the doctor are separated for good, and are stood against the same wall but in parallel universes? I really love that peice of music, but can't find reference to it!!
I love it too ever since i heard it in the first episode of series 1 but this one was the longer version. post the answer if you find it elsewhere please.
I should imagine its a piece of music composed especially for the series...Doctor Who sound fx albums have always been released on record (in the glory days of the bbc radiophonic workshop!) so hopefully they may release something for this series...or maybe get isolated music cues as an extra dvd feature?
I checked this out just now (my son records each episode). Almost certainly this is specially composed (it sounds like a single keyboard player). At the end credits, the music is by Murray Gold, so presumably he is responsible.
As abelmanmoth has said above, look out for the CD/DVD when it appears!
Ok, Thanks everyone... I was affraid it might bedone just for the show. Ah well will have to just wait and see if they bring out a cd of all the music from the series!
For some reason I remembered hearing it somewhere else. The version played on Dr Who is an "instrumental" version which is slightly changed.
I'm sure it will be available on an audio soundtrack at some stage. However if you're looking for the track it's based upon then you need to search for:
"In The House - In A Heartbeat" - A track from the film 28 Days Later.
Have a listen; let me know what you think. I'm pretty sure it's close. It was also used for the Prison Break advert music on Uk Tv Gold - either that or I'm hearing things :-)
Anyway, hope this helps out a few fans! What an excellent last episode!
