What herbs best suit being gown on a windowsill ? And where should I snip them when I am using them for cooking so they will continue gowing?

Basil, mint, chives, parsley, tarragon, thyme. Basil, parsley and mint I take leaves off but chives and thyme I just snip from the bottom. Remember The Herbs, kids TV programme? Lady Rosemary and Sir Basil, Parsley the Lion and Sage the Owl, ah, those were the days.

Ah, thank you. I do remember The Herbs, in particular Parsely Lion. I do remember being ever so slightly disturbed by a lot of those kids TV programmes though. They were a leeeeetle bit creepy. I used to have horrible dreams about zebadee thumping me and generally being demonic and scary.
advisable to keep the mint potted, ie just dig pot into the trough as mint will take over if left to grow freely.
