my computer is being silly, it crashes to a blue screen and then goes off making a ticking noise, when i turn it on again it works and then after a while it does the same thing, any idea?

my hubby seems to think it is software and not the computer, so what is the ticking noise?

Could be your hard drive is about to fail, get it checked professionally, especially if there are photos etc you need to keep.

In the meantime, leave it switched off.

when scanning with Antivir it reaches C:/WINNT/inf and after a couple of minutes the computer starts ticking inside then goes to blue screen of death. after reboot it runs normally again
I'd agree with mattie - if the harddrive is making a ticking noise, that could soon turn to a clunking and a grinding noise which is *not* good!

Have it checked out asap!
