It’S Stuck!

I’ve dropped a tea plate accidentally and it’s landed perfectly horizontally in a plastic mixing bowl, and jammed completely solid halfway down! I’ve tried filling with water, turning it upside down and smacking bottom, prising it round edge with a knife, but nothing. Absolutely jammed! Any bright ideas??

Try placing the mixing bowl in very warm water for a few minutes. That might expand the plastic enough to allow you to get the plate out. It's just a thought; I've never had this problem myself!

Buy a new bowl and a new tea plate. I wish that was the only thing I had to worry about in my life.

...or, try cutting the mixing bowl from the edge downwards, until you get a kind of flower petals shape.

Can the plastic be squeezed? Or maybe pouring oil over the plate to give it a slippery edge?

Jackdaw I didn’t say I was worried lol - I’m just not going to randomly throw away a new bowl and a plate that’s part of a brand new set.

Do you have a crochet hook? You might be able to poke it in one side and dig the plate out.

Sorry guys! I filled the sink with really hot water, put bowl in sink, poured some olive oil onto saucer then turned hot tap on hard and aimed it at one edge of plate, and it flipped it!
