So much for ‘something must be done’. When even the first base of surveillance fails, the second base that is the clamouring to lock up all suspects isn’t even on the horizon.

I’m not really sure why the NYPD were doing the surveillance, isn’t that the job of the CIA?

In a twelve-year period they must have spied on dozens, possibly hundreds of folk and not one lead was produced.

It's cost them more than a million dollars in legal costs and damages for this one case alone, with nothing to show for it.

If they're looking for terrorists, do you really think they did a good job and should have been aĺowed to carry on?

Regardless of success rates, no, I wouldn’t be criticising our police for keeping mosques etc., under surveillance. My safety and society’s security takes precedence over anyone’s foibles, religious or otherwise. Doesn’t yours?
