Today In The Garden....

...I am cracking it......I will have no bare patches from bad winter kill next year come hell or high water.....
I have planted paving slabs with stone bird baths and the like on them with Lysimachia planted all around...even my garden cant' kill that....and garden furniture where nobody will want to sit....but it won't die.
The shady awning kept retracting which was a pain......I think the battery in the remote which I couldn't access for love nor money was triggering the wind sensor.....so I stuck the remote in the boot of the car... that'll teach it!

The only mishap was getting a bed sheet stuck on top of the high arbour.....I flung it up there to cover the fountain solar panel as I adjusted and cleaned the pump and the sheet stuck to every bloody thorn...nail and splinter.....the fountain's now working perfectly....the sheet is in the bin....

Late dinner and wine on the patio.....

I had an interesting wrestle with 4 large Mexican palms..won in the end ! Still got the moves...must look for my sparkly and find big Bertha....wonder if she ever escaped the foreign legion ?

The wine was lovely......bought on the ferry coming home for much less than I usually pay......would be worth another trip to stock up again!

Ael......it was you reminded me it would be on my camera......tried to view it but there was something amiss with the SD card.....it would let me see now but not the past....
I was disappointed because I wanted to see not only my face when I got the slap....but just how high I can jump when surprised.... :-(

Spent the day in the garden too. You know when you say "oh I'll just prune these bushes, it'll only take about an hour." Three hours later.......

Indeed, Maggie......you'll see something else needing attention out of the corner of your eye....and so it goes on til you lose track of time...but a blissful way to spend a few hours....x
