Does anyone on here intend watching the royal wedding? Must say I'm sick of hearing about it already but know there are a lot of royalists on here.

I shall watch some of it. But I shall get bored of the commentators speculating and pontificating.

I really feel sorry for this pair now. Getting married is stressful enough without the newspapers muscling in with tripe from bitter relatives. And this whole "will he wont he" with her dad must be a nightmare.

Well I'm positively giddy with the whole affair. I may need to lie down for quite a while after the climax.

Probably not. I watched Chas and Di in 1981 when I was in France and they had it on in the office and it was interesting to see reaction of French.
I watched the France 24 coverage in 2011, which was interesting for the same reason - and I had nothing better to do at the time.

I think the media excitement is at least in part due to the fact that this will be the last genuine Royal Wedding for some time. Of the young generation, only Princesses Beatrix and Eugenie are left and they are not really part of The Firm.

I will watch but only because I am confined to barracks recovering from a revision hip replacement operation.
Like all the pomp but not the length of time they draw these programmes out for.

I'll be trying to avoid it purely because, no doubt, the Beeb and ITV will have blanket coverage with inane commentators and even more clueless people offering their thoughts and wisdom.
