Tiny little black flies in the bathroom. We just can't discover where on earth they are coming from. We have followed instructions found on the net, covered the drains with sticky sellotape overnight etc. to see where they are coming from, cleaned the drains with a long brush, put god knows how many types of drain cleaners down, but to no avail, and none have stuck, but suddenly we find 5-10 on the tiles. We have plugged all the drains now and just can`t imagine how they get there. Any ideas ?
I am wondering if their larvae hatched on the tiles. I can't see any, and my bathroom is very clean I hasten to add ! Maybe I should wash all the tiles down with bleach, I don't want to go to that trouble though if they still creep in from somewhere.
Pour some drain cleaner or washing soda crystals down the sink and leave for as long as possible. Put the plugs in overnight. Spray the room with fly killer and close the door. See if that works.
Done the boiling water and drain cleaner. The window has a mosquito screen on it. There is a gutter drain outside Ratter, shouldn't be blocked but I will get Mr.Sam to have a look, but I can't imagine how they'd get in.
We had similar problem a while back and found they were coming out of the overflow of the sink. Some very hot water poured into the overflow got rid of them.
